Lumberjacking

Lumberjacking is used to cut logs from trees, which are used by the Carpentry, Tinkering and Bowcraft skills. There are several different types of logs, the rarer of which are used to produce bows that do more damage with bowcraft and so are more valuable. Different types of logs can be found in different forests, with better logs generally being found further away from towns.

How to lumberjack

First you need a bladed weapon, such as a hatchet, with which to cut the trees. Double click the weapon and then click the trunk of the tree which you wish to cut. You will then cut logs from the trees. Logs cut from trees will be 'rough logs'. Rough logs must be taken to a carpentry table, which can be found in most towns in carpenters' shops or made using the carpentry skill, and made into logs. Double click the carpentry table and select the rough logs to cut, and you will attempt to finish the logs so that they may be further used.
